The term 'hairdresser's car'
has long been coined to describe sporty little
run-arounds, but is this really the case? Women's car insurance
specialist Diamond decided to find out what hairdressers really drive and can reveal that the most popular, and therefore
ultimate 'hairdresser's car', is the Vauxhall Tigra.
Diamond looked at data from over 12,500 hairdressers to
create a definitive list of the most popular cars amongst Britain's hairdressers. The Tigra is four times more likely to be
driven by a hairdresser than everyone else. The next most popular for hairdressers are the Volkswagen Beetle, and Ford Ka, which
are both more than two and a half times more popular with hairdressers. Rounding out the top five are the Mini One and Peugeot
106.
Commenting on the findings, Diamond managing director, Sian Lewis said, "It's not surprising that the
Tigra is so popular amongst hairdressers, as it's stylish, modern, and the metal folding roof allows them to show off their
latest cut!"
"However, look out for ‘hairdresser's cars' on the roads as hairdressers have a
poorer accident record than non-hairdressers. In fact, according to Diamond's data they are 18% more likely to have an
accident."
The list of ultimate ‘hairdresser's cars' is as follows:
- Vauxhall Tigra
- Volkswagen Beetle
- Ford Ka
-
Mini One
- Peugeot 106
