Women's insurance expert Diamond has today launched a new benefit for new and existing customers. Comprehensive policyholders insured with Diamond, who are involved in an accident or are the victim of a theft, where car seats, booster seats, pushchairs or prams are damaged or stolen, will now be able to claim up to £300 to replace these items.
The new benefit, called ABC Cover - standing for Accessories, Buggies and Child seats - means that customers will be able to claim for the accessories involved in transporting their children around in addition to their normal level of cover.
Diamond managing director, Sian Lewis, commented, "Being involved in an accident or having your car broken into can be an incredibly stressful experience, but this is made even worse for families due to the paraphernalia they need to carry in their car. There are car seats, booster seats, pushchairs and prams, all of which can be damaged in an accident or targeted by thieves.
"Replacing these items can be costly, but ABC Cover is designed to ease the stress and the financial costs involved."
Diamond launched its new product after speaking with some of the 58,000 women with children under the age of 16 it insures. Within the £300 cover, parents are also able to claim for up to £50 of accessories such as changing bags or sun blinds as these are all important to parents when their children are in the car*.
Sian continued, "Current road laws require parents to secure their children in appropriate car seats or booster seats. These can be damaged after any accident, and even if they don't seem to be, it's best to replace them as they may not function correctly in the future. The last thing a parent would want to do is risk their child's safety so it's better to be safe rather than sorry."
