Does your star sign influence your ability as a driver? Women's car insurance specialist Diamond thinks it could. It has looked at the conviction rates of over 480,000 female drivers and has found that some star signs are definitely more likely to hold a motoring conviction than others.
The worst culprits for convictions, such as speeding or jumping a red light, are overbearing Librans, followed by stubborn Taureans and impatient Ariens. At the other end of the scale are diligent Capricorns, cautious Pisceans and, safest of all, sensible Virgoans.
Diamond looked at the correlation between star signs and convictions just for fun, but was surprised at what it saw. Managing director, Sian Lewis, said, "I am a bit sceptical about astrology, I'm not sure that the time of year someone is born can affect their personality, but our research suggests perhaps it does affect their driving ability."
Other discoveries by Diamond include that when grouped together, air signs are the most likely to have a conviction, followed by fire, earth and then water as the least likely.
Sian continued, "We also had a look at how frequently drivers in each star sign make a claim, and unfortunately it doesn't make good reading for Librans, who top the list again! The drivers who make claims with the least frequency are Geminis."
