A recent survey shows 40% of women will not be doing anything
for their partners this Valentine's Day. Women want to be romanced
by their partners, but aren't always romantic themselves.
Diamond, a direct insurer specialising in car insurance for
women, asked their customers what would be the best Valentine's
gift for them this year.
The most popular choice was a night in a hotel, with 30% of
the vote. 20% chose a candlelit dinner, while 18% would like
chocolate and flowers. At 12% more women would actually prefer
a hot air balloon ride rather than underwear (10%) or a marriage
proposal (7%).
However, women don't appear to be very romantic themselves.
25% of women said they would not be giving their loved ones anything
on Valentine's Day. 18% will be cooking dinner at home for their
partner. 15% will take their partner out for a meal and only
12% of women will be sending an anonymous card this year.
Sian Lewis, managing director at Diamond
said, "Valentine's
Day is traditionally a day where men romance their partners with
dinner, chocolates and flowers. It seems this is one tradition
women are happy to follow, even if they aren't doing any of the
romancing themselves.
