How would you manage without your car if it was written off or stolen?
Diamond's Hire Car upgrade provides you with the benefit of a hire car for up to three weeks while we sort out your claim, keeping you on the road if your car is a total loss or is stolen and unrecovered.*
It covers all named drivers (aged 18 or over with a full licence)
The hire car will be delivered to your home or work, ready to drive straight away
The car will typically be less than twelve months old
Hire car for up to 21 days (Comprehensive policy)
Hire car for up to 14 days (Third Party Fire and Theft policy)

Why do I need Hire Car Cover?
With our comprehensive car insurance you get a courtesy car if your car is involved in an accident and is repaired at one of our approved garages. If however, your car cannot be repaired* or is stolen and remains unrecovered, you could be left without a car whilst you make alternative arrangements. It's surprising how much we rely on our cars and if you've ever been without your car for any significant period of time, you'll know just how inconvenient it can be. Our Hire Car Cover aims to help you get to work, pick up the kids from school or carry on with your normal daily routine in the event of a claim.
*Total loss must be due to: Road traffic accident, theft, attempted theft, fire, act of God, vandalism or malicious damagee.
Call the Diamond claims line number on 0844 543 4420 immediately after an insured incident. Diamond will advise Albany Assistance Ltd who administer the Hire Car Cover on your behalf. Albany Assistance Ltd will then contact you to arrange a convenient time and location for delivery of your hire car.
Calls to 0844 numbers will be charged at 5p per minute from BT Landlines. Calls from mobiles and other networks may vary.
How do I extend my cover?
Diamond Hire Car Cover allows for up to 21 days of cover for comprehensive policyholders or up to 14 days of cover for third party fire and theft policyholders subject to a maximum of 2 claims. If you need your hire car for a longer period of time, you can extend the hire by contacting Albany Assistance on 0800 085 8134. A discounted rate is available to Diamond customers.
How long does my Diamond Hire Car Cover last?
Your Hire Car Cover runs alongside your Diamond motor insurance policy. This means that cover will normally last for 12 or 10 months (depending on whether you have a standard or a bonus accelerator motor insurance policy).
