Must-have Christmas party dresses
Christmas party season is upon us, is it just us or did 2014 seem like a long, old year? The imminent work Christmas party feels well deserved.
However, there is one thing playing on our minds in the Diamond office and that’s ‘what on earth are we going to wear?’ We know for certain that the party ensemble has to be sparkly and it has to be stylish.
We’ve been trawling through Instagram and have put together a list of our lust-haves, check out a selection of our faves and tweet @DiamondForGirls to tell us if you’ll be sporting any of these looks this Christmas.
Black? Check. Sequinned? Check. Sexy, yet classy and worn by Beyoncé? Check, check and check again! There is nothing we don’t love about this amazing black dress from Topshop. It’s short so you can choose to show off the pins like our girl Bey’ or add a pair of opaque black tights and some brightly coloured heels for a more classic look. Either way the high-neck means you won’t have to worry about revealing too much once you hit the dance floor.
Oh, how we love beading. It can turn even the simplest of dresses into something that looks vintage and elegant. These dresses from Miss Selfridge scream 1920s flapper girl and the range of colours and shapes means there’s something for everyone. The black beading over the nude slip has a definite ‘sexy’ vibe to it. We also spotted a bright-ruby red number on the Miss Selfridge website which had us reaching for our purse.

This trend is like a boomerang, just when you think it’s gone, back it comes. We are definitely not complaining though, as the metallic look is one that can be worn in so many different ways. We really love this matte offering from River Island – it’s eye catching but not in the bad tinfoil kinda way. Teamed with the grey, sequined top, this is an outfit that will carry you through from a sit-down meal to a night on the dance-floor no problem.
Purple and blue
It’s so easy to get lost in red, green and gold this time of year, but try not to forget about some of the other beautiful shades you can choose to make you look fabulously festive. This purple number from Oasis is ideal for a Christmas party. This gemstone coloured, lantern-shaped dress looks elegant and the silver beading along the neckline gives it a definite Christmassy feel.
Similarly, the deep blue fitted dress from River Island looks amazing teamed with gold accessories. It’s a bodycon style so would be perfect for a Christmas night out with the girls.
