If you have an accident and the third party insurer doesn't provide you with a replacement vehicle, Diamond's Hire Car upgrade will. We can provide you with a hire car for up to three weeks while we sort out your claim, if your car is written off after an insured incident or is stolen.

Why do I need Hire Car cover?

With our comprehensive insurance you get a 'Class A' courtesy car if your car is involved in an accident and is repaired at one of our approved garages. However, if your car can't be repaired or it's stolen, you could be left without a car while we sort out your claim. It's surprising how much we rely on our cars and if you've ever been without yours for any period of time, you'll know just how inconvenient it can be. With Diamond Hire Car cover, either a hire car or £250 can help you carry on without too much fuss.

How do I make a claim?

Call the Diamond claims line on 0333 220 2037 (Call fees | Opening hours) immediately after an insured incident. Once we confirm that your car has been written off, you'll be able to choose whether you'd prefer the hire car or the £250. If you choose the hire car, Diamond will advise Auxillis Limited, who administer the Hire Car cover on your behalf, who will then contact you to arrange a convenient time and place to deliver your hire car. Auxillis Services Limited, who provides the hire car, will then deliver your vehicle. Or if you choose the £250 we'll arrange for this to be paid to you.

How do I extend my cover?

Diamond Hire Car cover allows for up to 21 days of cover for policyholders. If you need your hire car for a longer period of time, you can extend the hire by contacting Auxillis Limited on 0344 571 2715 (Call fees | Opening hours).

How long does my Diamond Hire Car cover last?

Your Hire Car cover runs alongside your Diamond motor insurance policy. This means that cover will normally last for 12 or 10 months (depending on whether you have a standard or a Bonus Accelerator motor insurance policy).
